Cosmetic Uprise is an anagram of the word euroscepticism and in my blog I discuss how the EU is portrayed in the UK. Aside from the anagram I thought it was a brilliant way of fooling people into thinking I talk about make-up.
I’m currently studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Magazine Journalism at Cardiff University but have some background in politics having done a BA in Politics at Newcastle University and a MA in European Studies at Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

My name is Mia Välimäki though in the English-speaking world I often go by Mia Valimaki. Kudos to parents on choosing at least a first name that translates to pretty much any language. And if the name wasn’t enough to clue you in, I’m Finnish by nationality.
On twitter you can find me as MiaLeenaSofia. I tweet about my favourite subjects in the world: EU, Eurovision and food.
I’m in the fortunate phase of my life where for work I write about food, music and the lot. In my spare time I keep an eye on the EU. It’s like being a caped crusader, leading a double life. Except maybe I’m less cool but you’ll be the judge of that.

Hi Mia,
I’m on the Newspaper option. Just thought I’d recommend an RSS feed for you: Charlemagne’s notebook on the Economist.com.

Hi Mia,
love the acronym and good luck with giving Mr Blair a run for his money before he takes over the EU. ‘Tis a sad fact that when the UK doesn’t know what to do with its politicians it send them off to Europe.
