Cosmetic Uprise is an anagram of the word euroscepticism and in my blog I write about the special relationship between EU and the UK.

I also thought the name was a brilliant way of fooling people into thinking I talk about make-up.

My name is Mia Välimäki though in the English-speaking world I often go by Mia Valimaki. Kudos to parents on choosing at least a first name that translates to pretty much any language. And if the name wasn’t enough to clue you in, I’m Finnish by nationality.

Aside from my accent (“Oh you can hardly tell!“), my claim for expertise on British politics relies on my many important sounding degrees and a curious interest I developed while living on this blessed plot.

On twitter you can find me as mialeenasofia. I tweet about my favourite subjects in the world: EU, Eurovision, bad jokes and journalism. I’m also an editor on bloggingportal.eu (bringing you the best of euroblogs!) and generally delusional about my importance.

On a serious note, I’m not a eurosceptic nor am I a federalist. Lets just say I believe there are benefits to European integration but that doesn’t make the EU perfect.
